If you are a label or distributor interested in our record, get in contact with a label near you for wholesale prices.
If you haven't listened to the new songs, you can check them online at our myspace, we recently added a new song called "Friendly Fire". There you can also take a look at the beautiful artwork by Gemma Pauwels. The first review of the album is in already; if they all could be like this one … please have a read:

Antillectual – Testimony

From mid-tempo melancholic post-punk to thrashing punkrock! Antillectual is far from ashamed to militantly show its versatility on the band's second full-length album. Indeed, Silencing Civilization's successor is a straight up hit! Recognizable melody, emotion, and passion combined with somewhat unconventional structures, inventive guitar riffs and vocal harmonies. Propagandhi meeting A Wilhelm Scream meeting Strike Anywhere meeting No Use For A Name meeting Bad Religion with a hint of Hot Water Music? No, totally different! (But somewhat alike).

From the rising of the drums in opening song Testimony to the fade out of the swelling sounds in I Hope You Got My Letter, all are a feast for the ear and eye. Not the least for the eye, because again the socially critical lyrics and their explanations can be found in the booklet.

Plusses are among many things the hot Maiden riff in The Dog Ate It! and pleasantly up-tempo rocking songs like Waves and On Its Own. The only blot is the length of I Hope You Got My Letter that tends to stand out in that way. This could be a personal objection that no one agrees with though, so don't be bothered. If the record contained 4 more songs I wouldn't even have noticed.

Well, a band that spreads its message with this much passion and integrity and, on top of that, is a treat for the ear, what else could one wish for?How beautiful punkrock can be. *Sigh*

Score: 88/100

Some more publications will follow soon, including Testimony reviews and interviews in Up Magazine and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll among others.

16 September 2007 ~ Comments Off on back from the studio!

back from the studio!

and again, it's been a while, but only because all of us have been so damn busy! mainly we've spent 10 days and nights in the studio to record the most important parts for our new full length album. but we still have to record some piano parts, mix everything and send it to the mastering studio. and then we'll have to see for a way to release this thing. we're talking with several labels about the release, but no decision has been made so far. hopefully it will be out before the end of this year, it should be possible if things get along. in the studio we also shot some video, so you might expect a small video report sooner or later.

other report-talk: the tour report from our u.s.a. tour is now also up on our site in english, please check it out here, you can also find links to the pictures we took on that tour and the videos and diaries we made. have fun! we're also busy preparing our longest euro tour to date, 16 dates together with our friends from static radio. we'll be crossing holland, france, italy, austria and germany. all but one shows are confirmed and looking good, so if you have the chance, drop by and say hello.

we'll also bring a complete new line of merchandise including, shirts, girlies, (zipped) hoodies, stickers and 7"es. and we might play some of the new recorded songs live. no, we will. if you want to check out the tour poster (and spread it?), you're welcome: click here for a big version and a huge version. we don't do small no more. a lot of thank you's to all the "partners" helping us out ons this tour, mentioned on the bottom of the poster. the poster is designed by gemma, check her other amazing stuff!

if you want to order the 7" that was released for the u.s.a. tour you can go to the no idea records site and order it through their distro. for this upcoming tour there will be a tour diary on 3voor12, holland's biggest online music magazine. i'm afraid it will be in dutch, we will see what we can do about that. we hope to update it as much as possible. more than we update this site, we hope.

speaking of which, the new website seems to have some delay, unfortunately. all our time and attention is going to the new record and the upcoming tour. i guess that's it for now, we hope to see you out on tour!

02 July 2007 ~ Comments Off on last words before leaving for the u.s.a.

last words before leaving for the u.s.a.

again it's been way too long since our last update. but again, we've been busy as hell with all sorts of band related stuff. even some shows! 2 days ago in france was amazing again, met the nicest people in the smallest town in france. and we met "iveco", just like your mom's latest gadget that you can sleep, watch d.v.d.'s and get transported in.

there will be a new website in september, more updates for sure by that time. in france we played the 2 last songs that we had to finish before recording so we're totally ready for both touring and recording. how about that?

about the transatlantic tour, all shows for the american leg are confirmed, some venues to be announced, but we're ready to go. for the european part of the tour we're still looking for 3 dates to be filled. if you can and want … you're more than welcome of course … about that tour, reload magazine is going to publish tour reports we will make for them. check the announcement at www.reload.nl and keep checking back to keep up to date.

the 7" that will be released through square of opposition records and glory days of youth records is finished and seems to be très bad ass. we can't wait to hold our first little piece of vinyl in our own hands.

if you're interested in listening to our "old" album, please go to our pure volume page and listen to the complete album "silencing civilization" in high quality.

at the show we played in venlo may 27 bas brader made some beautiful pictures and he wrote a nice review on his site. we actually made it to "Photo of the Month – June 2007". please check out the pictures and what he wrote on www.picturebeautiful.net.

the not tour related shows have been quite a problem lately. our show at the trashfest got cancelled due to … yeah, what was it? and the show we were supposed to play in oostende (bel.) with set your goals and no trigger got cancelled because of … euhm … well, indeed: the same. are we getting screwed over again without noticing it? but; finally down to earth, we have a new show in our own country, in a place we love: breda! the hall fest, come check us out please! any other slots to fill on your line up? let us know! [insert bad joke about slots/sluts here] that's it for now, hopefully the next 3 weeks will be just as good for you as they will be for us! take care.

03 June 2007 ~ Comments Off on holy fcuking shit

holy fcuking shit

you can't even imagine the responses we got in reaction to the new demo recordings! we knew it took us way too long, but it seemed worth it for sure. we're so happy so many people are just as happy with the new songs as we are. the reactions to the other new songs that we've played live were heart warming as well. the last few shows were really uplifting and positive, we're looking forward to what is ahead so much! now all we have to do is trick a label and get the new record out there, easy as that.

well, priorities: the last days we've been working on the music and lyrics of the last 2 songs that will appear on the new album. that might have been the reason why this new update took so long. hopefully the songs will be ready right in time to perform them live on our u.s.a. tour and play them into the right shape for recording in august.

actually, we already have a new release set: for the first time in our existence a 7" with our music will be released. the label responsible for it is the pennsylvania based square of opposition records. the 7" will feature the three new songs and three songs taken from our last full length. the 7" will only be available through square of opposition records and on our u.s.a. tour dates.

there's quite some new shows on the shows section. both for the 2 upcoming tours as some individual shows. we're very happy that we got asked to play at the almighty trashfest again this year. and even happier that it will be in relation to the release of a anti-g8 sampler by grassroots projects. please check the new shows out and drop by if you get the chance.

also, we were asked to participate in an animal rights benefit sampler called "defend our friends" that will feature minor bands like ignite, good clean fun, samiam, closedown, latterman, i-farm, crane, planes mistaken for stars. i hope they're any good?

with all this talk about new jack shit, you'd almost forget about our last album that still receives amazing reviews. the belgian insider magazine posted a nice review on their site that you can check at our music section. also bobby in a volvo made a review a while ago just as sputnik magazine. please, check the reviews in our music section. added last are the last in line.

ok, this turned out to be quite an update. i guess there was much to mention, after a month without updates. we're also working on a new website which might be a little downer updating this old wreck, next to the fact that were just busy with other band stuff. but that's good. take care!

28 March 2007 ~ Comments Off on first words after recording

first words after recording

were: "hell yeah, that feels real good!" we had a lot of fun recording and the premature results, the unmixed songs we took home, are very satisfying already. we simply can't wait to record the songs for the full length later this year. nico, our engineer, is on tour and therefore the final mixings and mastering might not be done very soon, unfortunately. until that time we're looking forward to play those new songs live. keep checking this website and our myspace for news about the demo recordings.

speaking of which, our myspace now officially has been pimped. finally it looks like something. what, we don't know yet though. please, since we had to take down our guest book, leave us a message on our myspace. if you're just as much a sell out as we are, that is.

and, as you could already see on our myspace and could have heard if you pay attention to gossip, we will be touring the u.s.a. again! after 2 summers of absence, we'll be hitting the american east coast again in july. this time we found the people of static radio (u.s.a., chunksaah records) willing and able to take us (on tour, of course). if you can and want to help us out with shows, check the shows section and/or email us for the tour schedule.

last of all: our apologies, this website has been down, or visually handicapped, as you wish, for several days. hope everything is fixed now. a new website is on the way too, anyway …
