17 April 2007 ~ Comments Off on almost ready

almost ready

this week we will finish the mix of the new recorded songs. we've heard a premix and we're "ultra" excited already. expect a new song online next week. there will be several samplers featuring the new songs as well. we'll keep you posted on those releases.

the upcoming recordings will be very exhausting financially speaking, and therefore we have made some offers you simply cannot refuse, once you checked them out (paradoxal, isn't it?). we are "selling out" because we've invested quite a bit in merchandise over the years and we are gonna need all the cents we can scrape together for the recordings. please check the merch section if you've tried all the refusing but gave in. if you think you have an interesting offer yourself, surprise us and let us know!

we also added some new shows, both national and international. as we told you before (and cannot mention enough), we will be touring the u.s.a. again in july. together with a band called static radio. they will join us in september and october on a european tour to return the favour. if you're interested in having us play in your town, check the shows section and we'll see if we can work something out.

thirdly, all the tour reports have been uploaded and put in the photo section, even if they don't include photo's. some old ones that weren't online before are up now as well, even the 2004 u.s.a. tour report.

and last but not least: there's bob-news! the good thing is: bob is still active behind his drum kit. the bad things is: together with (former) members of last to go, all under age and the shining he plays in a band called "frightening fiction". just kidding, no bad news, it's an awesome band with the coolest scenstars holland will ever produce. their first gig will take place april 19 in de onderbroek in nijmegen together with brat pack and the tenement kids. go check em out since the stuff i already heard is amazing. fast!

28 March 2007 ~ Comments Off on first words after recording

first words after recording

were: "hell yeah, that feels real good!" we had a lot of fun recording and the premature results, the unmixed songs we took home, are very satisfying already. we simply can't wait to record the songs for the full length later this year. nico, our engineer, is on tour and therefore the final mixings and mastering might not be done very soon, unfortunately. until that time we're looking forward to play those new songs live. keep checking this website and our myspace for news about the demo recordings.

speaking of which, our myspace now officially has been pimped. finally it looks like something. what, we don't know yet though. please, since we had to take down our guest book, leave us a message on our myspace. if you're just as much a sell out as we are, that is.

and, as you could already see on our myspace and could have heard if you pay attention to gossip, we will be touring the u.s.a. again! after 2 summers of absence, we'll be hitting the american east coast again in july. this time we found the people of static radio (u.s.a., chunksaah records) willing and able to take us (on tour, of course). if you can and want to help us out with shows, check the shows section and/or email us for the tour schedule.

last of all: our apologies, this website has been down, or visually handicapped, as you wish, for several days. hope everything is fixed now. a new website is on the way too, anyway …

22 February 2007 ~ Comments Off on i’ve had second thoughts about belgium

i’ve had second thoughts about belgium

first of all a big "thank you!" to all the nice people that came to see us in oostende. we got such amazing responses, it was a great show. wuft!

the second "thank you!" goes out to all the people that read our tour report and gave all those nice comments. i hope it made clear we really had a blast on this tour. you can still read it right here.

speaking of which, at youtube you can find some sort of video compilation of our show in l'autan, toulouse, check it here, but don't expect anything fancy. and don't watch it when you're on drugs.

there's an interview online with the people from our label, angry youth records, at punx.nl (in dutch, sorry!). read it and find out how they've become what they are. we recently did an interview with a swedish e-zine called skrutt. they have an enormous amount of interviews online, so you should check their site anyway, but here's the direct link to our interview. take a minute and sit down for it. it will be worth it.

some more foreign news: the belgian sampler from kick ass records has arrived and is for sale through our merchandise section. some other belgian news, how coincidental: the "bobby in a volvo"-online sampler is online as well! you can download one of our previously undownloadable songs and loads of cool european punkrock tunes at their website. expect the long awaited triebwerk sampler in next week.

and last: we have a new show to announce in eindhoven in may. for those who might show up! take care and hope to see you soon.

11 December 2006 ~ Comments Off on tour, compilations and the “r-word”

tour, compilations and the “r-word”

the january tour a.k.a. the "we should have planned this in the summer-tour" is finally getting some proper shape. of course, there are still some dates to fill, but the trip is definitely worth it already. we're looking forward to be in the van and on the road again. please come and check us out if we come anywhere near you.

the new shirts design is getting really neat and will soon be ready. you read and see it here first. new stickers will be in soon too.

there's some compilation news as well. the triebwerk sampler, even though its release was a while ago, is taking a bit longer to reach us, but it's a nice piece of work. a great amount of awesome bands and very good looking. the bulgarian label troskot records and the belgian label kick ass records will both independently release a compilation with one of our songs on it. at that, the guys from bobby in a volvo, a belgian punk community that is doing our show in oostende, will put a online sampler on their website with, indeed, one of our songs on it.

now the news: we'll be recording some of the new songs we wrote in the new year, in march to be exact. hopefully followed by a new full-length later next year. don't get your hopes too high, these demo recordings won't be released (well, it's not our plan) and next year is still looooooong. in the mean time: come check the songs out live or start your own band! it's fun!

15 November 2006 ~ Comments Off on in need of your help

in need of your help

hi, it's us again! the updates are getting more frequent, and that's a good thing i guess. we're always eager to highlight our political side/sight, therefore: there is a dutch initiative coming from dissent-nl to protest against the g-8 summit coming to germany from june 6-8. in very short: 8 world leaders deciding how to shorten this and other planets' life span. and all this supposedly in our name. hmm, well … the protest against this g-8 summit in heiligendamm/rostock will, among many other things, be a benefit c.d. with our song "no government needed" on it and hopefully some accompanying benefit shows throughout the netherlands. don't worry, we will keep you informed.

ok, less politically correct, we have a video of our infamous show at the speak out fest in the willemeen in arnhem from this year on our myspace.

well, now the main reason for this update, so please keep reading: we're going on tour again! after months of not touring we're very excited to go again. and we decided the people of france and spain to be the victims of our urge to cross the borders for the sake of our "music". so you can check the tourdates in our show section. and you will soon discover that not all dates are filled. that's where we hope that you come in. if you can help us out with a show or a contact that might be able to help us out, it would be very much appreciated. very very much. please, email us or make use of any possible medium if you can be of any help. we're doing this together with our friend joni from annie mae bookings. of course you can get in contact with him directly as well.

i think that's it for now. hope to see you all soon again!
