Ok, this is gonna be raar! As you might know we release one-off EPs in between our full length albums. Last time we did an EP with covers, we’ve done an acoustic EP, a split EP, etc. This time around we’re going Dutch: an EP with songs in the Dutch language! And of course, with songs in Dutch come shows in Dutchland! But even before the tour and the vinyl EP release we will have a digital single for you…

Voorrang Voor Rechts

Voorrang Voor Rechts is a track from the upcoming EP and will be released digitally on October 14. A thrashy song in Dutch about giving priority to the right, describing the Rechtsruck happening everywhere in the world, including the Netherlands. Artwork by Tessel Dekker from Segolia.

Antillectueel

If “Antillectual” was a real word “Antillectueel” would be the proper Dutch translation. The Antillectueel EP will come out November 11 as a vinyl 7” and a digital release. After expressing ourselves in English for over 20 years and with Dutch politics going crazy it felt equally exciting as necessary to write songs about what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Songs about local symptoms of global developments. You can pre-order the EP via our web shop.

Dutch Tour

For this unique release we’ve got a unique tour scheduled; shows in The Netherlands exclusively! Our home country is where we started playing live before we gradually moved away playing abroad more and more. We hope to see a lot of old friends and familiar faces at these shows. Lineups are in the making and look very promising!

Fall tour with Static Radio NJ

We’ve already played a lot of shows together with New Jersey’s Static Radio, but we figured we should do some more. From September 29th to October 16th we will hit the Snelwegen, Autobahns, Motorways and Autoroutes with them. We’re very happy to work with No Decline bookings for this tour. GROEZROCK

Our first stop on this tour will be a 20 minute set at Groezrock’s Macbeth stage, on Saturday from 12:55 to 13:15 sharp. Expect some golden oldies and some songs from our new record. Our friends in Static Radio are playing the Etnies stage just before this show. Also, High Five Drive will be playing the Macbeth stage at 19:10.

Shield Recordings and No Reason Records will be present at the groezrock merch tent. Be sure to drop by, buy them a drink and get some of their great records, or perhaps some Antillectual merch.

ANTILLECTUAL News Letter May 2009: ANTILLECTUAL PULLS THE PLUG

Release acoustic 7”
In March we recorded 4 songs (2 old, 2 new) on acoustic guitars and percussion. We’re very happy with the result and are proud that Shield Recordings and No Reason Records release them as the “Pull the Plug” 7”. The release date is set on July 5. If you want to get colored vinyl and a chance to win a test pressing, pre-order the single at shield recordings . It will also be available as a download from July 5 just like our debut album “Silencing Civilization”. The EP will include a download code for MP3’s and will first be available at our acoustic show at Knoflook in Den Bosch (NL) together with Mischief Brew, aka our acoustic EP release show. 2008 was an incredibly busy year for us. We played well over 100 shows, released a new album and toured all over Europe and the USA. 2009 seems to be getting even crazier. We plan on recording a new record, doing lots of touring again and hopefully play at some nice festivals. And to start off we have some nice events to announce:

– Japan release "Testimony"
– France, Swiss and Italian tour in January/February
– German tour in February/March

Japan release "Testimony"
After being released by 7 seven labels throughout Europe and the USA we are now proud to present that Fast Life Records will release "Testimony" in Japan in March 2009. The album will be released as a CD and download and will feature some bonus tracks.
