19 April 2012 ~ Comments Off on Transatlantic tour and fresh old releases

Transatlantic tour and fresh old releases

While it may seem that we are laying low (our last tour was in December) we are actually planning more than ever: tours, releases and new recordings!

  • Fest 11 + USA Tour
  • Re-releases “Start From Scratch!” and “Testimony”
  • Pre-production recordings and EP
  • New zippers and shirts

Fest 11 + USA Tour

Can we get a drum roll please? The biggest and best news by far is the tour that we have planned for October and November. After 4 years of absence, we will finally return on American soil. We have been confirmed to play the almighty Fest 11 in Gainesville, and we will be touring the USA on our way down to Fest. Details to be confirmed.

Re-releases “Start From Scratch!” and “Testimony”

Since all LPs of “Start From Scratch!” and all CDs and LPs of “Testimony” are out of stock, we decided to run a second pressing of both albums together with our friends at Shield Recordings. The 350 gatefold LPs of “Start From Scratch!” will be “seein’ red” and “Testimony” will see a reincarnation of 250 LPs in the “grey area”. The 500 “Testimony” CDs will be a jewel case edition.

Pre-production recordings and EP

Having written half a new album already, we decided to book some studio dates. In May we will record these songs to prepare ourselves for the recordings of our fourth full length album next winter. 2 of those new songs will end up on an EP which will be released later this year. Details to be confirmed.

New zippers and shirts

No re-release here! Freshly designed zipped hoodies and T-shirts! Stay up to date and support us by ordering a shirt, zipper, a repressed album or a nice package of shirt+album.

Shirts have the King Kong print on the front. A limited amount of these shirts, with a red and black print on white, will be sold by Fairtrademerch at this year’s Groezrock Festival. Speaking of Groezrock: make sure to stop by Shield Recordings and No Reason Records on the market, and treat yourself to one of Mom’s Veggie Burgers.

13 March 2012 ~ Comments Off on Album release and tour in Brazil

Album release and tour in Brazil

Bom dia! We are very happy to announce a long cherished wish come true: a release of our music in South America. More specifically: Brazil. And of course, we will follow up with a tour in support of the release.

After having our last effort “Start From Scratch!” released all over Europe, the USA and Russia, we are now very proud to tell you that there now is a Brazilian release through Undermusic RecordsGet in touch with them to order your jewelcase copy of the album.

As an extra bonus to the release, Undermusic is booking our very first tour ever in Brazil. From November 1st to November 11th, we will be touring Brazil in support of this milestone. Details to be confirmed. If you wish to book one of these shows, please get in touch with our man Uirá at undermusicbooking@yahoo.com.br. Undermusic has a more than excellent booking roster with bands such as Mute, Atlas Losing Grip and many more, and we can’t stress enough how excited we are to finally set step in Brazil.

While we are working our asses off to write a new record, more touring news is to be announced very soon. Make sure you subscribe to our mailinglist to stay up to date with the latest and hottest. And some news too..

Take care, obrigado!

06 December 2011 ~ Comments Off on Heideroosjes or HR (déjà-vu)

Heideroosjes or HR (déjà-vu)

When I was 13 de Heideroosjes were maybe the first band I saw playing live. They are from the same region I grew up in. It made a big impression. I had no idea what to do and learn at the time, so I picked up playing guitar as a hobby. In my first band there was a guitar player who played better so I switched to bass. Around the same time I also started doing vocals in another band. When HR released their album Fast Forward, they asked my band (No wisdom at that time) to play 3 shows with them. That was a good learning school and cool of them to invite us to play shows in bigger venues at the time. Now, after 10 years, I will be playing with them again on a few of their goodbye shows. A big coincidence for me but cool again. If it was not for this band I would not be playing bass and maybe not even be playing in Antillectual right now.

So maybe I can’t change the world but you can influence a lot of people with music.

At the show on this poster I made a stage-dive during the support act. I bounced on the floor and my knee was all swollen. I made it through the evening, but the next morning my parents had to call a doctor because I couldn’t move my leg anymore. An ambulance had to take me to the hospital . My knee was bigger than a orange! They ended up having to take some fluids and blood out of my knee. Everything turned out OK, but sometimes I still have the idea my left knee is weaker than my right knee.

30 October 2011 ~ Comments Off on €6,50 discount on tickets for No Use For A Name

€6,50 discount on tickets for No Use For A Name

New Pokerface and we will be the supports for the November 11 show of No Use For A Name at the W2 in Den Bosch. Needless to say, we are very happy to play that show. The last time we supported No Use at de Effenaar in Eindhoven was a blast!

Anyway, the W2 is allowing us to offer 10 tickets with a €6.50 discount. That means you can get into this show for a measly 10 euros. Wanna be that cheapskate punk? (cheap skate punk, ha!) Just drop us a line at info@antillectual.com and we’ll sort it out. First come, first serve.

See you in Den Bosch!
