We have a lot of new shows coming up in the next months. To offer you souvenirs at those shows, or just give you an extra excuse to order that fresh Anti-Flag split from our webshop, we have new zippers and T-shirts available as of now. Inspired by our songs “Soundtrack” and “To All Members of Parliament” we have 2 new designs.

The first available as black zip-up and burgundy T-shirt, the other as a black T-shirt. Designs and apparel provided by our friends at FairTradeMerch to make sure it meets the right standards. Find the new zip-ups and T-shirts (and all our albums, girlies and much more) at our webshop.

Split EP with Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag is releasing  a series of 6 EPs in celebration of their 20-year existence. “20 years of Hell” features re-recorded versions of their songs and one new song. The band invited 6 bands to appear on the B-sides of the EPs. Guess who will appear on the 6th and last issue of this series? Yours truly indeed!

We contributed “Soundtrack” and “To All Members of Parliament” that previously appeared on “Perspectives & Objectives”. A-F Records will release the split that is limited to 500 copies, but we will have some limited, imported copies available in our webstore as well.

Side A
Anti-Flag – Close My Eyes (new song!)
Anti-Flag – The Ghosts Of Alexandria

Side B
Antillectual – Soundtrack
Antillectual – Mother Inferior

26 May 2014 ~ Comments Off on Review and free download “Perspectives & Objectives”

Review and free download “Perspectives & Objectives”

Better late than never, especially when it’s a killer review like this one: Punknews.org wrote a review of our latest album “Perspectives & Objectives”. The people who coined the term “orgcore” gave us 4 out of 5 stars and As melodic Europunk goes, this band has to be up near the top of the pile. Read for yourself

Related to the latter, and old news to those who receive our newsletter: we recently released “Perspectives & Objectives” as a pay-what-you-like download. For those interested in physical copies, check our webshop, or for cheap shipping to North America and Australia check the A-F Records store.

03 April 2014 ~ Comments Off on Stolen Riffs And Borrowed Song Titles; the outcome

Stolen Riffs And Borrowed Song Titles; the outcome

Two weeks ago we started this reference challenge. We realized it was quite something to ask people to actually read and think about song lyrics. But it was fun to see people actually do it and come up with interesting (and sometimes unintended) references. Thanks for thinking along!

Tim Jansen from Zuid Scharwoude (NL) came up with most correct references, as you can check below. He wins a discography+shirt. When we release another album we will repeat this challenge with fresh lyrics and references, so keep an eye out!

Winning references:

With Gaga On Our Side refers to With God On Our Side by Bob Dylan

Mother Inferior > Mother Superior by Good Riddance

Waste = Food > An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore

Chinese Takeover > Chinese Democracy by Guns ‘N Roses

So Much More > Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue

Benefit of the Doubt’s “Socrates always was right” > “I know that I know nothing” by Socrates

Another Guide’s “produce what you can and consume in so far you need” > Karl Marx

The Dog Ate It! > Dividing Lines by Adhesive

Spoken quote before I Hope You Got My Letter > The Shawshank Redemption

Welcome To Le Jungle > Welcome To The Jungle by Guns N Roses

17 March 2014 ~ Comments Off on “Stolen Riffs and Borrowed Song Titles” – get a free discography + T-shirt

“Stolen Riffs and Borrowed Song Titles” – get a free discography + T-shirt

As you might know, there’s 2 things we love a lot: 1) using references in our songs 2) giving away things. Let’s combine!

We will send a discography package (CD/LP) + T-shirt to the person finding the most intended references in our songs. You may include songs from all our albums, using both musical and lyrical references. 2 examples: Song title “Welcome to Le Jungle” refers to the Guns ‘n Roses song “Welcome to the Jungle” (who would’ve thought?!). The intro of “The Dog Ate It!” is a musical quote from Adhesive’s “Dividing Lines”.

You can find all our music and lyrics on our website.
Please email us your references, admission closes on April 1st, no joke!

So, Bring It On!
