Enjoy your Fest!

Originated out of jealousy this goes out to all Yanks, tourists and other Fest visitors who are gonna celebrate the best weekend of the year this weekend in Gainesville. I wish we could be there ourselves, but hopefully we will be back next year. Have fun watching our friends from Static Radio, After the Fall, One Win Choice, Fiya, Bridge and Tunnel, Iron Chic, Strike Anywhere, and of course the “usual suspects”. If you happen to run into Thomas (our friend who helps us out with merchandise on tour) offer him and his girlfriend a place to sleep, they are still in need of one I guess.
Oh, and could someone tape the Samiam show?

Practice makes perfect

And today we had another rehearsal session with Tom! Our first set with him is nearing completion. We are very excited to play the (new) songs with Tom. There is a new dimension added to both the old and new songs having a new melodic voice in the band. These rehearsal sessions also give Riekus and me the chance to make small adjustments and improvements in songs we have been playing for years now. (Perfectionists? No, you must be kidding …) On top of that a lot of new shows are being arranged to see if it all holds up live. Check the shows page for details. More shows are welcome, keep em coming!

Acoustic tastes/ sounds like more…

We played a small, intimite show in The Move in Arnhem last sunday. It was a hot afternoon. Acoustic guitars and subtle drums. My kids were there as well. I really enjoyed it. Playing our songs acoustic force (in a very gentle, yet fierce way) us to relearn those very same songs. I like the vulnerable aspect of it. Gosh, I almost sound like a pacifist…

Check out the show section for the acoustic (and non-acoustic) shows, I hope to see you at one of them.

Take care, Yvo
