We’ve got a new track for you as a reminder that we’re going to Canada soon!
Today is a special single release day! We recorded HALL OF MIRRORS at the Big Dog Recordings 10 year anniversary Pizza Session in Antwerp! It was a weekend filled with (recording) tension and (pizza) relief, resulting in a brilliant compilation featuring Tusky, Batwölf, F.O.D., Loud Love, Mike Noegraf, St. Plaster, Charlie Bit My Finger, Craig’s Brother, Harsh Realms and Bridle. The full album will be out July 1st, enjoy our track in the meantime, and see you soon Canada!

I was raised to feed the underdog
I was taught to fight the prime establishment
I will stay down til’ I’m underground
And I was brought up to fight crooked governments
In the hall of mirrors
What the fuck am I looking at?
Former foe, future friend
Who the hell is the greatest threat?
Holy, hoax, hypocrite
You are faking to be the underdog
Now I feel forced to endorse the prime establishment
If I wanna stay down with the underground
Then I am bound to selflessly defend our current government
This song came to existence in response to the confusing experience of progressive protest techniques and strategies getting adopted by conservative, reactionary and other types of right-wing political activism. This sparked during the pandemic protests where a wide variety of people fought national governments and anti-Covid rules in the name of “freedom”. After this episode more and more (right wing) conspiracies have become popular. Including anti-esthablishment strategies as acts of populism and patriotism.
Rolls seem to have been reversed. Progressive people are feeling the need to no longer resist but defend and comply with the status quo, authorities and their government’s policies. Where groups of anti-vaxxers, climate change deniers, farmer-protestors, anti-migration activists and other populists seem to have formed a weird alliance of inconsistency and have become the representatives of “counter culture”.
Things are looking bleak when the status quo is worth defending.
